We frequently get emails commenting on how people want SOHO to stay as it is. While you might feel that way for now, in time you really would want change. Big changes are about to happen pretty quickly. The Publix/Greenwise store is getting closer to starting construction. The location is on Armenia between Platt Street and Azeele. The multi story store has been a challenge to design due to the small lot, but things are getting closer to happening. We have some preliminary drawings to share and it makes it very clear that SOHO is about to become a different place.
The parking garage of Bern's is almost complete. Watch for construction to start on the Epicurean Hotel in front of the parking garage very soon. The hotel will feature a new restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner; a roof top pool bar, a seminar facility for wine tastings and culinary classes, and a new location for Bern's Fine Wines and Spirits. (That move will allow for the expansion of SideBern's) Another big change coming to SOHO will happen shortly as Post Properties begins construction of their retail spaces and rental apartments at the block currently occupied by Whiskey SOHO, Tampa Digital Studios, and Schifino Lee. After a long wait, it looks like Post is ready to go. They are currently adding over 80 new apartments to their current location on Fremont Street between SOHO and Hyde Park.
