A recent Neighborhood and City meeting allowed residents to express their complaints about Gasparilla.  Public drunkeness, lack of adequate bathrooms, nudity, and other complaints were expressed.  They want Gasparilla to NOT be held on Bayshore Blvd - a linear park.

The City has promised a followup meeting along with responses from Event Fest, Inc, the organizers of event. 

Traditional pirate tales include rum, thievery, raping, and pillaging.

So, here is the City handing over the keys of the city to pirates.  Hmm.. 

And many of the Gasparilla krewes include some of Tampa’s prominent business leaders.  Hmm… 

We think the real issue comes down to continuing Gasparilla or not.  Is there  a better location ?  Is the event out of control ?   What do you think ?
