Our monthly Pets About Town event was filled with love for pets and a lost friend, Christine Hodill. She frequently attended our pets events with her dog Oscar. Last week while at the corner of Moody and Cleveland, she was struck and killed by a hit and run driver after leaving a Kickball event. Christine had been the director/organizer for WAKA Kickball for the last few years and as the popularity of the game expanded, her work had increased as leagues had increased to playing two nights per week. Sponsored by MacDintons Irish Pub, you could count of Tuesday and Thursday night players to be socializing while Christine looked on. While our Pets About Town events have been successful, the over 300 crowd that came to remember Christine was huge and generous. MacDintons provided a $10 - 2 hour happy hour that provided ALL of the proceeds to Christine's family. SOHOTampa.com provided numerous raffle items as everyone assisted in helping out. As of the last count over $ 6,000 was raised between the door proceeds, the raffle, and some generous contributions.

A service for Christine will be held in Niceville, Florida on March 8.

At this time, the driver of the vehicle has not come forward. The accident happend on Wednesday morning around 2:30 AM, a description of the car indicates it was a Nissan or Toyota, 4 door, probably green or black with a spoiler and body damage. Call 813-231-6130 if you have any information.
